    Foretold futures
    Inevitable pasts
    In my virtual absence
    Memories come
    Crawling back to me

    Seeping into my skin
    Draining me of my soul
    I'm bleeding my sorrow
    Fading from my depthless life

well optimist or pessimist, this is a GREAT write! SO much conveyed in so little space! wow, i would pick a favorite stanza if i could seperate one that i liked more, but both are so full of the truth. its funny too, because i just finished the great gatsby which is all about someone who lived an entire life based on recapturing his haunting past, and he finds that that relationship and that love cannot be reclaimed, which forces him to face the possibility that maybe it never really was there. sorry, that was a tangent, but good writing connects with other good writing in my mind! thanks again!

Now, that's more like it! I mean, personally I'm pretty optimistic and so pessimistic poetry often annoys me, but despite the premise you still did well with the actual writing! Nice symbolism and imagery. =]
