I, too, am sickened with where our race is intellectually.

Too many people are thinking how they were taught to think, rather than thinking how the were meant to, and society as a whole is exponetially weaker than in our primative days. With the increase of technology, our society has left all the thinking up to a select few, be it politicians who don't know their asses from holes in the ground, or scientists who will take a theory and propel it into the rhelm of fact because their own personal fears prevent them from challenging the validity of it...

As far as humanity is concerned, I have seen the evidence that points to our ancestry, and it is nowhere near convincing to the point of believing that we were once as gorillas, and before, as fish... Though religion is a touchy subject that even in my personal life i prefer not to have anything to do with, I must say, that the bible toters have a point, we are definately the product of some supreme intelligence. Chaos and chance don't even begin to possess what it takes to explain the first ten-billionth of one percent of our universe.

But humanity where it is today, is disgusting.

I like this. I have many similar feelings about society today. I liked the first paragraph the best. It is so true. So many people are blind as to whats truly going on in the world. It is a true statement, people see what they want to see.

Anyways, I like your idea you've got there. It's a powerful message. I'd like to see it in some form of poetry or in some unique way of expressing it.

by the way... you left me a comment a while back about an addiction. so i feel for you with that. in many ways, it is my way of turning my shoulder to a cold society that you talk about in this piece.

You have to think, though, those few that think outside the mainstream circle give faith to what this world has the chance to become. Even though the majority of this world's population cares not what is beyond tomarrow's afternoon line up, there are a few that think and give their life in the pursuit of knowledge. Take hope in that

see, now this, this is something i can comment on...without expectations of receiving a comment on my own writes in return.

I think the first stanza is the best. with growing technology, we have gadgets to think for us these days. Just the other day, my husband wanted to buy our 7 year old a calculator to help her with her math, and i wouldnt allow it because at her age, there is no need for one. I mean, it's not like she's in some advanced highschool class where sometimes one would be necessary....she's at the point in learning the basics, and introducing a calculator to her now would only teach her to push buttons.

as far as the second stanza, i think there is a little problem there. if you believe in some higher power, you can't believe in the whole evolution from apes and such..they controdict each other. higher power says adam was created from the dirt, and that eve was created from one of adams ribs....no monkey ape gorrilla-ness in that. i would take one or the other out instead of trying to combine them, or even go into a 3rd stanza on the possibilities for both sides.

nice write, yeah we live in a sick world allright, iv,e stopped watching the news at night, gets sicker all the time, you got a lot of good points in your work, the battle between science and religion,a never ending one.i am not a bible freak myself but i also don,t like the idea of having fish for ancestors. (Too many people are thinking how they were taught to think, rather than thinking how the were meant to) a really true line,

its a pretty good writing. you're completeing accurate on most of the stuff lol. you should try taking it, and turning it into a kind of rhyming poem or something. good look on future work.

I agree with most of your opinions, and I don't think I should comment on annything else than the contents of this... eh whateveritscalled.

The first line I might as well say myself, and the entire first stanza too by the way.
you're right that religion is a touchy subject and I have the outmoust respect for religious people (not implying that you are) still I love to create a discussion and tease them.
I just have to say that I don't agree with the idea that we are a product of some higher intelligence. sure it's a, what was it tenth of a billion of a one percent chance that we were made. but here is a thought: what is the chance of encountering a specific person in the world?
roughly it's about one in 6 billion
Then what is the chance of encountering anny person in the world?
that is about 6 billion in 6 billion.
oh my, I'm ranting away, like the opinions though.
