This poem portrays the irony of life's little questions. No matter what faith you are, as death consumes us the answers we quest for in life suddenly become obsolete. Whether you become an other worldly being, or a corpse rotting in the ground, the questions of life are either answered, or the reasons for asking are quelled.

    dotsAs the Blade Fallsdots

    He is ended under
    imperfect hands.
    The drawing flesh
    sinks beneath
    a lifetime of fear.
    And for a moment,
    the soul,
    it stands. It sees.
And a speck of thought is born.

    The answer to love,
    to breath,
    to light,
    rises from its knees
    and makes an easy
    eye contact with
    his falling iris.

    Fear comes to an instant
    rightness, and is justifiable
    after all.
    Freedom is an mirage
    in the forest, drying
    into someone's imagination.

    Violence laughs as
    it seeps through the dirt,
for it knows it was bested
    in its victory.

    And with this steel
    of man, the link
    between heaven
    and earth is severed.
    Which side he is
on is decided in an instant.

    And after the flash
    is finished with him,
his head bounces and rolls on the
    fresh pine needles,
    and its bringer rides away…

the first thing i want to say, is that the flow kind of distrated me from getting the point. i had to go over it really carefully and slowly, to get what you were trying to say.
but it was a great idea. it sort of goes with what constantine says in the movie of the same title. one minute in hell is a lifetime. it is in that moment of death that everything happens, and those who bring about the death will never know, not until it is thier turn and often thiers is in comfort.
a good write. just work on the pacing.
