    Fly away, Memory
Leave me in peace this eve
Fly away, and let a weary mind rest
    Without your meloncholy song,
    loving song, mourning song
    Ringing silently in these ears
    Fly away
    Even for just a while
So the stars of tonight may twinkle
    in my eye
And have their time, their place
And those twinkling sparks from so far away
Can sleep, for their time has passed
I beg thee, Memory, leave me
    So I may sleep
And have the energy to contemplate you
    Tomorrow.

--and it's difficult to sleep when memories won't quit their incessant songs, --like trying to sleep while the neighbours are having a party. Memories can soothe, and evoke all ranges of emotion, but when they come unbidden they often distract from what we wantef. to contemplate (or think we do). Memories offer escape some times too, but like fair-weather friends, can visit at inconvenient times demanding your attention, and then when you call on them---they simply aren't there for you.

I liked the sentiment here, that you only want to spend time with the stars right now, --because this is your only chance to to hold them in your eyes, --. Perhaps use a synonym for "twinkling " though, --it's such a common modifier for stars anyway, the repetition points out the cliché.

Other than that, it was a little different perspective on memory and I enjoyed it.
