    Description:
It kind of falls apart at the end, but this is for school and my teacher's a schmuck, so it doesn't matter.

It's about wanting to go somewhere, in this case, Italy, but being a mere teenager and unable to go. *sniffle*

Just so you know, Lacuna Coil is an Italian Metal band that I adore.

Yeah, most of it sucks, and I changed the rhyme in the third stanza, but my teacher's a schmuck and won't like it no matter what I do. So, I made it funny. Funny works better at getting a better grade with Mr. Schmuck. AND I know Crypta Napoletana is closed to the public, due to restoration. Still, it's a crypt and it should be open someday. I want to go see the tombs of famous Italian people. Sue me. AND, and, I know that not all of Italy
s history is sublime... I've just always wanted to use it in a poem, and I saw my opportunity. I took it. Ooh. What now?

Also, for refrence, I'm currently failing Algebra, hence the 'and try to pass my math' line.

To walk the streets of Sorrento,
and float atop the 'Queen of the Adriatic'
Maybe view the works of Verroccio,
Or take time to tour La Specola...

    The unknown origins of Ravenna,
    The divine architecture of Florence,
The Gothic beauty in the Duomo di Siena
All blatant proof of Italy's sublime history.

    To explore Crypta Napoletana,
    To view Mount Vesuvius,
Or watch a game in Fuorigrotta,
Would contain memories I doubt I could forget.

But, all of this is just a dream,
in which I constantly find myself lost.
    Potential memories that remain unseen,
I fail to calculate the latent cost

Until the day comes when I can travel it's stone path,
I'll settle for what I find in books,
And try to pass my stupid math,
While listening to Lacuna Coil's contagious hooks

I feel this sounds more like a muse! However I am quite amused.
Since there are actually no abstract themes, no laughing words floating above my head oozing subliminal messages at me, I'd say this is pretty rare work that I come across these days.
However I think it'd do much much better with a rhyme. I'm not acquainted with Italian, so I can't really rhyme all those Italian words..especially the city names. Sigh.
Nonetheless, I'm quite curious as to how your teacher didn't like it..
    Cheers
