    -------------------------------------------

    she wants to hold him
    'til the end of time
    something touching her
    someone wanting her
    isn't it important
to have someone there to hold?

    she trusts him.
    knows him like no other,
    not even past lovers,
and isn't that how friends should be?

    she stays up late thinking
in the ocean of her dreams
    changing fairytale queens
    for some imaginary thing.

    she wants to be.
    she wants to believe.
she wants to get up and run and dance
    and all that humans do,
    but she can't move.
    she can't breathe,
    she can't be.

    she knows.
    she moves in her awareness
    as he touches her,
as the simulated discontent awakens in her mind
    she cringes
    but continues,
    moving through life half-blind.

    isn't there more to being?
more to life than simply seeing?
    watch me dance,
watch me tumble as I fall,
    have a good laugh
    when I hit the wall.

she yearns for a way to save herself
    pushing friends away -
    only from inside herself
can she come and save the day.

    they cry
    as she continues
    to erase herself,
    they shout
    and she closes her ears.
she hears them in her bones,
    she witnesses,
    she knows.

but only she can save herself,
    though friendships will decay.
    only from inside herself
can she come and save the day.

    she wants to hold him
'til the end of time -
    but she can't breathe.
    can't win,
    and can't receive.

god i hate repeating myself. but again, this piece was very relatable to me. ((cringes)) for almost all of it, i could look back and say, i've felt that way, or, i've thought that, etc. my favorite stanzas and probably the ones that related the best were

    "she wants to hold him
    'til the end of time
    something touching her
    someone wanting her
    isn't it important
to have someone there to hold?

    she trusts him.
    knows him like no other,
    not even past lovers,
and isn't that how friends should be?"

    and

    "she wants to hold him
'til the end of time -
    but she can't breathe.
    can't win,
    and can't receive."

it sounded very familiar. wonderful write.
