    dotsSomething to Survivedots

Everyone needs something to survive; the solace of a near-incomprehensible 'thing' that makes the next breath worthwhile. The safest, and in my opinion strongest source of this ethereal objective is the sparkling essence of star-stuff deep within each of us: The same thing that makes up the beauty of flowers and the taste of chocolate - or the feeling of love - only before it gets mixed in with those other ingredients. We need to optimally take this ‘thing’ and fashion it somehow into something self-empowering I say need only in the sense that the need exists, not that this is the only way to meet it. If the internal well proves too deep, one must cast about outside, consuming ready-made replicas pared down for ease of use. Be careful of these things, for they are neither of you nor for you, they just might fit you. Only so long can a heart beat with another’s blood pumping through it

A lovely little musing. Poignant, concise. Very pretty language. Packed with truthiness. I could definitely feel it in my gut. The heart beating with another one's blood...its an interesting concept, one that I'm not sure I'm grasping completely. What is it that you need to survive?
