Kwanzaa Hanukah and Christmas
This is the time we thank The Lord Above
For bringing us all the Blessings He has
If it was not for Gods Beautiful Love
Surely this World would have disapeered a long time ago
Heavenly Father
My only wish is that others would realize
With You in their Lives the negativity starts to fade away
Life becomes anew
And memories of a bitter past rapidly fade away
Heavenly Father
As I light another candle resting peacefully in the Menorah
And my family gathers together to sing Christmas carols of joy
Please know
I for one am Thankful for the Love You bring All of us
Your Children on Earth
And Please Dear Father
Continue to Shine Your Love on us all
For Your Love is the one and only thing
That has prevented people of all religions
From destroying
Your Beautiful gift of Mother Earth
Hmmmm, very thought provoking Ron....bordering on the controversional......none the less, you have left your calming, soothing and inspirational stamp, as is your trademark.
I like this it was very nice, it reminded me of when my grandpa prays aloud. Lovely words, makes me want to go to church agian. Filled with happiness and joy. It was nice. Thanks for sharing.
I was very disappointed when I found out you had not purchased this site! Your picture at the top of the screen was a noble example of what a writer should be don't you think? I saw your picture as an overseer of all our creative endeavors! lol! Just playing, but anyhow you always do nice work that is both well constructed and creative. I feel there must be a balance between knowledge and passion in poetry. Because the cutters can be passionate, yet not be saying anything of worth.
Oh Ron, this is nothing new to you assuming you remember the days of chat, but I just never really bit into the whole religion deal, and your heavy relgious writing is definitley not my favourite as such. However, you write well, and assuming I was religious, this is something I would love to read on a Happy Holidays card. You could probably make some bucks off it to a vendor of a religious nature :-p.
I only saw one spelling error that jumped at me, that was "disapeered." Might want to go back and change that.
This brings out some of the true things of the holidays, You know the things blocked out by most families who say "Screw that, PRESENTS!"
I'm sure that would agitate you a bit because people don't notice the lord as much. Sadly, my family ceased saying oath before eating at Thanksgiving. Not much for giving thanks, more like a turkey dinner with Grandma and Grandpa.
The lord keeping us from destroying this earth is actually incorrect I think, because although it may not be destroyed yet.. well.. tomorrow, who's to say?
Thanks for sharing the right. Furthermore, thanks for commenting on Mistletoe.
Though I honestly don't believe in god, this is a great piece and I truely love. It's also great that the poem had in all december holidays. Most people would only put in just one of them, but most people are not that opened minded. Though I don't like the structure of the poem it does have a nice point and flow to it. Personally you used Heavenly Father to many time for my taste, but that's just me. This is a the perfect thing to use for holiday post cards. BTW I will be making a new poem soon.
Take a look at the world around you.I'm talking about outside the cozy four walls of your own personal world.Religion is destroying the human race along with greed and selfishness.Look at every major conflict or terrorist act for that matter and tell me one which is not connected to religion or race (which are more often than not, one and the same). The president of your country is supposedly a christian but sends innocent men to their deaths everyday for the sake of power, money and control.Christianity vs Islam-how many victims throughout history? Justify that.I don't understand how supposedly intelligent people can be so foolish as to believe in something that doesn't exist.I think it's probably because they have nothing else to believe in or can't believe in themselves. I agree whole-heartedly about negativity though. There' s far too much of it around and if believing in something creates positivity then I guess it's a good thing. Merry Xmas to you. A.Cowboy.
Hmm, it's okay. I like it in the way that it very much reminds me of a prayer, but not really the kind one would pray in public. At the same time, it's like...in some ways too moderate for me. It's sort of about God's love, but it's sort of the whole "hell fire" thing going on, too (especially the last several lines). Plus, it's mildly environmentalist, which I don't like. That's a personal thing, though, and probably something you can ignore. Overall I'd say this is okay, not great, but seems to be heartfelt, which IS great.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that my favorite part is the combining of holidays. That's a very cool aspect.
