So close, yet so far
One of us invisible the other hurt inside
One of us watching the other oblivious.
You so hurt and alone
Waiting for someone to trust
But everyone who you trust
You are betrayed by
You clam up inside
And don’t let anyone else in
You’ve been hurt too much
And won’t let yourself be hurt again.
I look at you
And even though you don’t show it
I know you’re dying inside
Which kills me as well
The pain I feel
Is as much as you do
If you would open up to me
I know I would never betray you
But you open up to another
Not me
And that hurt me more
Then the fact that I’ll never
See the real you
I try to be there for you whenever I can
And just between you and me
