Glowing Lights

Simplicity in life's simplest things,
Still you wonder why's it so complicated?
And you pen these songs out in souless ink,
Leaving two-timing words abated.
Catchy phrases and underlying metaphors,
Life is to candle, as should be.
Time burns, even in the winds of change,
Leaving only the simple and crazy.
At the end of the tunnel,
Lies two apathetic trees;
Swaying softly in the wind.
Devoured so easily,
With the lust and desire,
Of mankind to destroy.
These trees, they catch on fire,
Killing an innocent boy,
And still the crowd watches hopelessly.
Glowing lights and mass hysteria,
Leaves the public deaf and obliged;
Headlines, assuring truth in media,
No one cares about the ones who died.
Complexity in stupid things and stupid people,
And you wonder, how'd we end up like this?
As you sing this song from your soul,
The crowd stares on with blank abyss.
Catchy phrases move and they churn,
Just as a rose on winter's morn;
Times change, even as the wind burns,
Leaving only the weak and the torn.
Wake up and see,
The tallest trees are standing still,
Our hearts bleed,
Whilst we are killed.
