Dear emo friends of mine
Did you leave your common sense behind?
Did you decide to throw it out one day
Cast it out?
say it couldn't stay?
Cause your ranting on so aimlessly
About some things that apply to me
Labels you say remain no good
What are you some Robin Hood?
Can you not see they are a need
Labels, my dear,
are the key
Just like seeing in the dark
Its how we tell our friends apart
For even waters have their names
Like the great Atlantic
When our forefathers came
Its name is for Fierce and stormy winds
A warning for those who sailed it again.
But oh, your too busy seeing in grey
To see things in a different shade
Maybe we give you a name
So we can all be loved the same
For the ones we love we call "friends"
The others, known as "foe"
But I guess your too distracted mirroring eachother
Why should I expect you to know?
Why be so ashamed of who you are?
After all you will always be you
Why not proclaim who you are?
For anything that has no name
Is nothing, nothing indeed
For labels are our Identity source
Labels are what we need. |
