I lie awake at night waiting for you to come for me
I look up down the street but I don't see you daddy
I call you on the phone... no one is there
a little 12 year old girl left with a blank stare.
another weekend lost sitting on the porch
cars pass day by day the girl has nothing to say
mommy when is daddy comeing to get me?she asked
her mom just stared and faked a slight laugh
soon baby girl she says with a sad look in her eyes
next day dad doesn't show no big surprise.
