New Year Poem

Here’s another year gone by We watched it go without a cry. Let’s raise our glasses and toast Maybe just get drunk and say that tonight’s just a bore. Let’s drink to friends and family To lives gained and ones lost. Let us recall what has gone by What we wish for and what will come. Here’s to things I never wanted To things loved and those hated. Raise the glasses against the world Forget how fast time is going by. Let’s make a promise That’ll never last. But isn’t that half the fun? Let’s let go of the rules for a night Forget that time is still going by. Here’s to the songs never sung The girls never asked for. A toast and drink to fantasy To hobbits and elves Bad fanfiction and to those things which Made us laugh a year before. So here is the toast to a new year One with surprise, great and small To a world still large.
