Right since I took my first breath,
Till this very day,
Mum and Dad have been with me
And loved me all the way.

Right since I took my first steps,
Till this day, when I'm standing on my own feet,
Mum and Dad have helped me face life
And have made each moment so sweet.

But growing up is so wonderful
And independance is so sweet.
On Sunday, walking home from church, ALL BY MYSELF,
I felt like a sweet young lady on the street.

It was raining very heavily that day,
I twirled my umbrella gaily.
I shan't forget how I got wet,
I wished I could do it daily.

As I walked home in the wind and rain,
I remember doing the same,
Years ago, splashing, with Mum, who'd scold,
"You'll catch a cold. Don't play that game!"

I can't believe how the years have passed
And I've still got a long way to go.
Oh, growing up is such great fun.
And I'm glad to think I've got lots more.

But I'll always have my Mum and Dad
To help me on my way.
Life is so beautiful,
So enjoy everyday!
