It's the end of the year now,
A time to sit and think.
Did I face life as it came to me?
Did I from troubles, shrink?
It's a time for introspection.
Did I falter on my way?
Was my Master pleased with me
At the end of everyday?
It's a time to look behind and see
Did I do the best I could?
Is there anything I can find in me
That's beautiful and good?
It's time to look into oneself,
Did I hurt anyone?
Have I disgraced myself in any way?
Did I leave a job undone?
It's a time for meditation.
A time to recollect.
If someone hurt me, on my part,
Could I forgive and forget?
It's now time to resolve
And do all that it takes
To get rid of the sin and shame
And learn from past mistakes.
It's now a time to reflect,
A time to pray, a time to say,
"Lord, I can never be perfect,
So help me on my pilgrim way."
And ofcourse, it's time to reward oneself,
To reap the year's harvest.
It's a time of quiet and peace,
Of solace and of rest.
It's now when faith replaces doubt,
When hope replaces fear.
May you know what happiness is all about
And HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR.
