Light's Out

Chest is burning,
Can’t feel my legs
And somehow I know
That this is the end.
Sergeant is shouting
For the tired old medic
And I think of the times
I should have said it
Your letter came
Just the other day
Speaking of love
And winters long ago
What went wrong,
That we couldn’t make right?
And why does it feel
Like I’m losing this fight?
The light’s fading out
And I don’t want to die
But why should I live,
To just say goodbye?
The medic is saying
“Please don’t give up, son.”
He knows I could make it
If I just gave it a try
I’m sorry old man
Please tell her I’m sorry
Tell her that I love her
She won’t want to hear it
She hasn’t forgiven me

Makes me wonder what you did to be not forgiven even in the end..
Maybe that's another poem...oh're dead

good stuff....I like this writing....key word for me is that it .....FLOWS....

arise and write some more....before it's too late...don't go through the white light....
not tonight....another day is on it's way
