    You know, sometimes, it's hard to smile

    as you find yourself lying in a ditch

    next to the road of life,

    clothes torn and a cut lip,

    raped with love and a walking stick...

    Sometimes it's hard to smile

    as the cars fly past your tattered body

    making their obligitory eye contact

    as they prey they don't contract

    your ill luck - it can be hard to smile,

    just once in a while

    as the blood flows from your soul

    and no one notices

    or offers a bandage -

    it can be hard to smile, keep a stiff upper lip

    and swollow the S.O.B.s

      "and swollow the S.O.B.s" was a horrid ending to what was otherwise a wonderful and seemingly thoughtful poem. I'll give you a 9.7 out of 10 for it, but just caze I really hated the last line. The rest of this was great and had a wonderful flow to it. Hope to read more from you soon ^__^

      Ur so right, it's hard to smile when life keeps kicking u in the face and stomping on ur head repetitively. I like what ur saying, I like the lines "as you find yourself lying in a ditch
    next to the road of life," it's how I feel most of the time. great write.
