Description:

I was just thinking of Spinach, and went on a tangent. Maybe someone old will catch my allusions :)

Just wanted to Know

Is it safe to eat spinach again?
because I've been
Malnourished.
Needing something leafy
and green.

I am what I am,
but that's not all that I've been,
and hopefully
not all that i'll be
but who will free me
from this ...

because lately
all that i've consumed are woes
(at the occasional pity party)
and I've lacked the brute strenth to
defeat my life's Blutoes

and I long for a healthy diet of Olive Oil,
but i've been feeling a little Wimpy
as though my forearms
aren't quite big enough
and I can't get a grip.

"I Yam what I yam!" I like interesting pieces inspired by something that usually isn't considered poetic. From Ergolgo's comment I sense there is a between-the-two-of-you joke but I enjoyed it anyhoo!

This was really good, my only think about it

from this ...

felt like it was a bit out of place or forced, other than that great, I wasn't too sure on the popeye reference, although it was obviously my first impression, as perhaps I am a bit too young for him, although I did watch him growing up.

Other than the one critique, good sincere heart felt piece.
