    I can't water it down -
    Can't dilute what drives me
    to write, or I will drown.

    It's in me, it IS me -
    and has been for so long
    that trying to ignore it
    makes it twice as strong.

    I can't take it away,
    nor make it nicer to read,
    any more than I could ever,
    kill the fucking need.

    It's there forever, regardless -
    accept, ignore or disagree.
    & I can't change it anymore,
    than I could
    stop
    the
    tides
    at
    sea...

      I really like this. to me it makes me think of someone trying to squelch your talents, to tell you to stop writing. Makes me think of a book about an amish girl who isn't allowed to create art (The Preacher's Daughter by Beverly Lewis). Your feelings should never be taboo, for they indeed are a part of you.
