What were random attacks
depriving me of sleep,
have since proven quite gregarious;
as my ailments,
for periods,
liken to that of a rapist,
forcing words into precarious
and speaking with a tongue,
that would lay dormant
in any other mouth.

Ay! it is words,
that crawl through my brain
like foreign parasites
upon my façade
nurturing the apathetic skin of youth
until it peels away from the core
lending a truthful look,
an untethered eye;
at the entrails
that have paraded
for years disguised
as love.
