    -------------------------------------------

I was watching “The Sound of Music” last night with my kids,
And that damn song kept going through my head.
“These Are a Few of my Favorite Things.”
The next day I was in the kitchen drinking some coffee,
And my oldest daughter had her door open , she was playing
Some band called” Panic At The Disco.” She wondered in ,
    and out of her room,
As she was getting ready for school. I asked her what the name of the
Song was that was playing, because it had a catchy tune to it.
She told me “ Build God, Then We'll Talk.” I laughed right out
Loud. She kissed me on the cheek, and headed off to school.
I dresses in a hurry because I was already late for work.
Out the door I ran, coffee in hand, news paper under my arm.
I opened the car door and almost spilled my coffee.
I thought: I could have been a rock star!
With a smile on my face I jump into the car, and head down the street.
The sun was beating down hot, and steamy.
For some reason I started singing that damn song from the movie last
    Night!

“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things.

And some how it turned to…

“Raindrops on roses and the girls in white dresses
And the sleeping with the roaches and the taking best guesses
At the shade of the sheets and before all the stains
And a few more of your least favorite things.”

I wondered where that came from? Then I remembered …
It was that song my daughter was playing.
How funny: I thought to myself!
I turned on the radio to get both songs out of my head.
Guess what song was playing? The Hills Are Alive…
I turned the station real quick!
Something country would do the trick…
I found a station that would suit my needs, and it was playing
    Tim McGraw’s “ Indian Outlaw.”
I start humming with the song, and start tapping
My hands on the steering wheel to that Indian beat.
The course come, and right on time I start singing…

“I can kill a deer or buffalo
With just my arrow and my hickory bow
From a hundred yards don't you know
I do it all the time
They all gather 'round my teepee
Late at night tryin' to catch a peek
At me in nothin' but my buffalo briefs
I got 'em standin' in line

    Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die…

I turn off the radio as I pull into the parking lot.
I think to myself: Isn’t it funny how much music
Touches all of us in every thing we do?

Music is a language everyone speaks.

I can't stand The Sound of Music anymore, I used to watch it all the time as a child lol.

And thanks, now I have 'These are a few of my favourite things' stuck in my head.
Seriously, my head is demented cos I have this permanent radio inside playing any song I have ever heard, I can recall it with perfect clarity, even if I don't know the lyrics.

Anyway, i'm gonna go bug the people at work by singing songs from the The Sound of Music
