    dotsWhat Father Saiddots

    Shadows on our heels
Don’t seem to get the picture
    When faces are drawn and
    Eyes are hollowed
The being wants to be alone.

    Keep the dog quiet, son
    Or you’ll never hear
What a father has to say
    To his growing seed.
The old withering man flashes eyes
    At his growing son
And regards him in all his vigour,
As the same day he entered
    The world he will inherit.

    “Never take a soul,
If you so wish to enter heaven, my son.
Listen to the wind to keep
A head that is clear and void of hesitation.
Respect your lover like a prize
And show them everything; discard the intended lies.
Have the brevity of a glacier
When matters of life are regarded,
    And ambiguous not,
    In your words and intentions.
    Share what you have,
    And have what is shared.
    Protect your lover and family
    With your own life.”

    “Die with a smile
Be content with what you have seen.”
