My body doesnít usually cry out for New York this early in the morning. I guess sometimes you just need to wake up to skyscrapers and traffic. Iím not the pining type, but something about the way the stars were scattered last night made me yearn for them to be overshadowed by a sky strung with city lights. Cloudy with a chance of electricity. And maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get showered with sparks.

Who is Alex? Is this something in a previous piece I haven't read? Probably...

It seems odd, someone pining for New York. New York isn't the greatest city in the world to live in...but I guess people love what they are used to.

"And maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get showered with sparks."

That line is electrifyingly beautiful. Heh, I know what I said sounds stupid. But, I love that line. I just don't know how to explain it.

Interesting soliloquy. And the use of italics shows that it is inward thoughts. An inward soliloquy.

I need to find out who Alex is. And I shall.

    Keep up the good writing!

Yay! We get to hear Alex now.

I really liked the "i'm not the pining type" because that's so different from my own point of view. Very real.

And the "cloudy with a chance of electricity" is just brilliant.

I like this too. I like the whole, "I wake up yearning something..." idea. Because I've never heard that or it seems interesting to me.
I really would like to read more. :'D

i like the different approach/honesty. cause everyone is all about open skies and beautiful stars yet there is a kind of ambiance about the big city people tend to overlook. Woooo
