Thank You Learah and Sandburg
Poets -------------------------------------------
Inspired with poetry one by one
felt like I struck gold ten times fold
each writer had something to say
expressed in his and her own way.
Inspirational lines flow from their page
sharing for all to read and grow
strong messages seep into my pores
on a day which these eyes explore.
Their canvas of words paint
a picture I'm drawn into their every vision
inspirational thoughts pour out of them
streams flowing into me.
Poets are like a fine wine from the young to the old
offering their gift of words for us to unfold
pleasure or pain its there to envelop
which ever mood ends up on the taste of my palate.
Yeah this site does have an affect on people who choose to read. There is so much passion here within the words of these writers. You can find a peice of each and everyone here if you read the writes.
These write have a away of making you fill full and at times make you feel empty. They speak to every reader who wants to be a part of something that requires no feeling of regret when posting a poem.
Did you know that Ars Poetica, or "the art of poetry," is simply a poem written about the art of poetry. I do believe this one of yours is just that. (I learn the term during my studies of poetry forms.) Here's a toast to us poets and all the variety we share! :-) Sharon
Yep, we move from page to page reading the outpouring of the writers who share a small piece of themselves with each submission. If we honestly try we can find a little something in each write that just might illuminate something we had not thought of previously and also we may tend to see things different ly than the usual. May the poet in each of us continue to blossom.
Good write........................
This is quite an interesting write, really; that's just how the world of poetry is - it always is filled with inspiration and beauty, art and timelessness.....................................It must have been fun writing poetry on 'poetry'................................I like 2 write poetry on odd topics like that once in a while......................it makes one more creative...........................well expressed and well written too.................though, I think, if you gave it a little bit of rhyme it would make much more enjoyable a read....................still, good effort! : )
Keep it up! : ) : )
poets really are a rare breed in that if they do their "job" proply you can ellicit any emotion you want from their pieces.
i like that about poetry.
what a poem means to me wont mean anything similar to you given that i bring my life and background and thoughts to the piece and you bring yours... its kinda magic the way it works sometimes.
i love that you wrote this with sandburg and learah... names i remember from a long time back when i was first on this site... thats kinda cool.
One of the things
I have learned is that,
every writer is as motivated
to put their pen to paper
to me, your idea in this stanza remains incomplete. i dont know if its just me but i am waiting to see what it is that the writer is as motivated as...
here in my country we say "sweet as" when we're trying to say that everythings fine and i know that when i was travelling and i said "sweet as" ppl were always asking me "sweet as what?!" and i guess thats what im asking you here... as motivated to put their pen to paper as...?
as any other poet perhaps?
one other suggestion i have is that there is an abrupt change from "i" to "you"... the frst 3 stanzas are very personal and about "i" but then the last stanza kinda turns on the reader and all of a sudden its addressing them without any warning...
i dont know...
i love that you have tried to encapsulate all that poetry is and this is like a tribute to all those who create the masterpieces that we laugh, cry and sigh to though i think to encapsulate it fully you would be writing for the rest of your life
This is the first time I read this, and it is good, and inspirational in the sense that it motivates the reader to write, just write.
Liked the whole poem, but the following touched a soft spot:
"Poets are like a fine wine from the young to the old
offering their gift of words for you to unfold,
pleasure or pain it's there for your eyes to envelop
which ever mood ends up on the taste of your palate."
Did it change though???
Just a bit...but it did...didn't it???
hmmm
I like the feeling of having so much before you and growing from the turn of page or phrase. From one poet to the next..never know what you're going to find...love that, because it is oh so true.
I also love the wine and palette...with the images drawn in between...you've done well and I still love this poem ;)
