This is called Bearings for a reason. I wrote this back in December '06 at a time when I needed to stop and take a look at where I was and what was going on with my life. I needed to take my bearings and figure out what direction I had been goig and what direction I wanted to go in.

    I don't understand
    the way I seem to
    try so hard
    to make the world
    hurtful and cruel
    there are things
    to be happy about
    but inevitably
    there's grief behind
    waiting to spring
    I live each day
    for the simple moments
    not because they're
    the happiest
    but because then
    I'm not thinking
    about what comes

    I've tried to feel love
    Tried to feel safe
    to feel like everything
    is right
    but that never
    got me very far
    love turned into
    something worse
    safety is with others
    just as lost
    and right depends
    on your point of view

Nice piece. There are a few flaws with flow and stuff but otherwise its a powerful message that I am all too familiar with. The whole confusion thing, I have written my fair share of pieces with this exact same theme before as well. I was always questioning if I was making stuff up, lying to myself, so on and so forth....still I find myself trying to convince myself of what I feel and dont feel.

    Great job portraying it.

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
