My throbbing head
tucked away in exhausted arms
Last night`s five alarms
did my body a world of harm
I`ve risen through the ranks
yet my salary shows a depression
Unaltered by slim wages stands
my burning desire, a rush of aggression
The price of my job, nothing
Rescuing a five year-old, everything
I carry on with my heart held high
The faint scent of smoke- my choice cologne

Engine 12, Engine 23, Ladder 37
Respond to a warehouse fire, 511 Pratt Street, fully engulfed, possible chemical explosion
Sending out second and third alarms

......Yeah Cap, i hear you.
...We`re doin` everything we can to get you out of there.
......Hurry them up, the smoke`s getting to me
...You still with us champ?
......Cap...Tell my wife I loved her with all my heart, OK?
...Yeah Gary I`ll take care of her.
.......And my kids, keep them strong. Will you do that for me?
...Of course. It`s been my honor working with you, son.
......Goodbye, Captain.
...Engine 23.......evacuate the building. I repeat, evacuate the building immediately.
