Description:

This is one of the few linear pieces I write every so often, it does have an overall plot/message. I hope it worked out well, normally no one comments when I actually manage to get something very clear.

Sleeping Legs

You're not awake yet so
keep on trying
you're almost there but now it's time to
go back down again
you're not quite breathing yet so
cough out your soul, a little now
your feet are on the floor
and you're looking pretty good
wipe off your vile dreams and
befriend the modern world
the cieling hangs too low
for me to grow as high as I've been-
trying to go

that door looks nice and empty
make your way along
there's a naked woman standing there
with a pretty perfect form
crawl along the clothes
you've left far too long ago
look for her legs to climb yourself upon
you make it halfway up to a -
kiss on the lips

keep on trying, you've
passed out again
cough out some soul as you
start to breathe
don't fall down again
but there's no one here this time

Comments

It seems almost like memories of someone significant...like you had something special together, something really intimate, and then it suddenly disappeared from your life and you were left alone to try and experience that intimacy by yourself. When really, you can't.

I had a little trouble thinking about whether this piece meant what I thought, though. As you stated, no one comments when you actually get something clear. To be perfectly honest, I thought it was clear, but at the same time, I didn't.

Help me out. Was I on the right track, or did you mean something completely different from what I thought?
