Description:

Selfish Soul

Shifted into the shadows
Suffocated and dominated
Disrespected
She took a left turn
And ended up in the wrong

It’s not her fault it never was
But you made her believe that
Because that’s what you’re made of
All the downplaying all the lies
Her life for your happiness was the compromise

Take it for what it’s worth
And leave her nothing that’s whole
Leave her dying and starving
For all you have left is a selfish soul

Hold it close
Hold it tight
Hold it till it breaks

And I (i…) see things from the outside
And I (I…) know what it’s like to be lied to
And I (I…) know she’s fine without you

Sleeping sound and safe at night
Holding onto what isn’t yours
But you think you have the right
It isn’t yours, it never was

You’re snide and you lie
You hold your hand out
And take take take
Everything from her
She’d give you her life
And you know it

Take it for what it’s worth
And leave her nothing that’s whole
Leave her dying and starving
For all you have left is a selfish soul

Hold it close
Hold it tight
Hold it till it breaks

And I (i…) see things from the outside
And I (I…) know what it’s like to be lied to
And I (I…) know she’s fine without you

These were some really awesome lyrics. I could hear the music in my head. I know where you're coming from, my ex-best friend was a situation like this and I wrote alot of songs/poems about this. Awesome write. Keep up the great work, and I'll keep reading
