Description:

Grooves

Keep your friends close and your
enemies closer
and then your friends become your enemies
keep your friends close and your
enemies closer and then
your friends are your enemies too
make the city into the roof
break a hole and
make the clouds your city now
that the clouds your city you can die
cause there aren't any friends in the sky above

Keep your friends close
and your enemies closer
and then your friends become your enemies
and as the trees feed off the dirt
the wisest owls make homes in their
trunks
yet no one visits us anymore
we aren't so wise at all
were more lonely but we already know
that
your back is smooth for a lady
who would spend time in my trunk
but its got grooves for my eyes
lets go home
lets stay, no lets go before we notice its a bad idea

back and forth, back and forth; push and pull and push and pull. rethink the statement, state the obvious, turn the obvious around and restate it.

this was a little depressing, but in a whimsical, nonchalant sort of way. someone walking in the rain, swinging their closed umbrella around in happy circles.

good call on mentioning her back. a woman's back is one of the most sensual things i can think of. curves and shoulderblades, muscles moving sleekly under soft, soft skin. it's yummy.

friends are enemies waiting to happen. and enemies, the worst sort of enemies, are old friends who know everything you never wanted anyone to know. but sometimes, friends are simply friends. not often, but sometimes.

and yes, let's go before we realize it is a bad idea. thinking is overrated. feeling is where it's at.

i have nothing to nitpick about grammatically. so i hope you don't mind that i just randomly rambled on about things that your poem made me think about. it was wonderful.
