Stop waiting for things to happen and do it yourself.......the world makes some things alot more glamorouse then they really are

    dotsAs Time keeps Passingdots

Cause were always waiting for that perfect song
Were always waiting for that perfect face
and we'll dream of days to come
    Maybe not tomorrows that await
It may not be five years from now

    Life isn't that perfect song
    Its not that perfect phrase
The one you carry around in your heart

    Its an hour glass
    With no thoughts or feelings
It seems to go faster as you get older
Cause all the poems you used to write
All those stories you used to read about
all those times you cried yourself to sleep

There is no perfect melody to sing you songs of praise and pain
    We'll get along in age
and the moments that fly by we realize

That words can cut deeper then knives
That lies kill worse then guns
    And the worst part is
Your not the only one that feels this way

If we stood alone in our sorrow
Then the less pain there is too pass
Then there would be few broken hearts
and the tears we shed would be of happiness

Not these materialistic abnormalities so many of us try so hard to work for
I'm not impressed by your shiny new car
Or your big White house with roaming horses

    Open your heart to me
    speak of true happiness
and if in your heart lies hurt
Then i'ld say you've accomplished nothing

Cause even the man who has everything can be the saddest man of all time
And now I'll show you me

I live in a one bedroom apartment
My car looks like a piece of shit
I get by on minimum wage
And I sing my heart on a stage
    I don't even get paid

    and in this apartment
I kick off my shoes and climb into a warm bed
    Waiting is that someone special
Maybe were in love, maybe not
But i'm showered in goodnight kisses
As my leaking roof sings me to sleep

Or maybe its me and a roomate
    we talk about today
    Have ourselves a couple laughs
and I wake to work at a place
    where these familiar faces smile
and we laugh as we work the day away

My crappy car and i cruise down the streets
It gets me where I need to go
    What else do you need
And this time were on our way to a club
and I sing about my past
You know where i come from

And I walk off that little stage
with a smile on my face
I lost myself in that moment
    Opened my heart
Someone even said I was the best

Now tell me whose more succesful
That girl who lives her day
Without regrets and a smile on her face
Or that man he walks into his billion dollar house with no one to come home too

    Eventually we realize
    Life isn't a fairy tale
its not a movie we can play
there were no slow songs when i fell In love
and there won't be that special guy
The one who drops everything just tell you something

Cause there won't be that perfect song
There won't be that perfect moment
    Unless we all stop waiting
for someone else to write those lyrics
For someone else to go in for that perfect kiss

Wow. This poem is the perfect way to describe life and everything about it. I picture you driving in your car to the club to sing about your "crappy" life and someone telling you that you are the best. I think that everyone should look at life as how you have written it in this unnamed poem. I really liked this poem (I'm adding it to my favorites) and I will be reading more of your work.
