Listening to one of my mix c.d.s and got inspired. It seems all my inspiration these days comes from songs that have already been written...lol

    dotsMeant For Moredots

Twenty years old and she had
    The world at her fingertips
All the knowledge that she possessed was lost
The first time she tasted his lips
She'd been at the top of her class
Her dreams were within her reach
She wanted to write something that would touch the world
She wanted to learn and to teach.
She left it all behind for him
She gave him her heart and her mind
She never had the slightest inclination
That he would one day leave her behind.

    She was meant for more
But she got lost along the way
    She wasted everything she had
Or that's what she's been heard to say.
    She was meant for more
    She was so damn smart
But brains don't get you anywhere
If you sacrifice them for your heart.

He came from nothing at all
And believed that was what he'd be
But he wanted so much more
That was something she made him see
He knew he could have it all
If she was by his side
    She encouraged his every dream
    And she let hers slide
One day he woke up and looked around
And wanted it all right then
He decided she wasn't the one
And he drifted away in the wind

    He was meant for more
But his impatience got in the way
    He was only nineteen
When he left her that day
    He was meant for more
    But his heart was untrue
He sacrificed anything he could have been
When he left for something new.

Now they sit in separate lives
    Casualties of love
    Inspiration never strikes
    Despair fits as a glove
She longs to be what she once was
He longs to just be free
Each thinking that with the other
Is where they want to be
    She wants to disappear
He just wants to break away
But they remain where they are
    Both hoping for the day

    They were meant for more
    They were meant to live
    Both now repressing everything
    That they had to give
    They were meant for more
A connection that nothing could sever
They were meant for greater things
And they were meant to be together.

      Good write
    It's sad but so true
so many people in this world have a lot of potential and just choose to throw it all away on a romantic whim
sure a guy will make you feel good for a minute
but an investment in knowledge is something that no one can every take away from you
and it sucks but people that are surrounded by negative attitudes usually take on that persona and never amount to what they could be.
stay in school cuz its the best ;)
adn theres the clique you can only be what you want to be

Raivn, how can I like this? It was written well, true...and the rhymes were badDass...just, I can't help but think you should not be writing or thinking about this. And for the 4th of July I think everyone needs to come to the Valley and have our own cookout. EVERYONE> Ya?

Awww, this is pretty sad! And true, really! I've seen it happen, and I'm only in highschool. Girls who have the potential to be smart fall in love and then their brains collapse to a puddle of mush. Just as soon as the boy leaves her, who is typically a directionless punk with no future plans, she is left with nothing but failing grades and an empty heart.

That's what this reminded me of, anyway.

    Keep oooon writing!
