    Description:
when I was around eight, I was a strange kid and I, for some reason, saw my hands as being two different people. I'm right handed, and my right hand does all the work, while the left hand just lazes about.
I also had the realization that when I polished my nails, my left hand came out a lot better than my right (for obvious reasons.)
So I started to imagine that my left hand was a beautiful princess, wearing rings (rings on my right hand tend to hurt when I'm writing or drawing) finely manicured, etc. And my right hand was like my left hand's servant, doing all the work, but becoming homely because of that.

yeah I was a weird kid.
this poem is me complaining about the idea that femininity means that one must be the muse, not the artist; the left hand rather than the right.
    I'm a right hand!! YEAH!!!
    ...is this incoherent?

I don't want to be a left hand,
    bedecked with clanging rings,
    fingers lazily splayed
    nails sparkling with color.

I don't want to be a left hand,
    awkwardly fumbling around the keyboard
    stiffly pounding out chords.

I'd rather be a right hand,
    callused from writing,
deftly dancing up and down the whitewashed keys

nail polish poorly applied and clinging to
    my destroyed cuticles.

How could you disparage left-handed people with such obvious glee? O, the shame and agony we left-handers suffer at the inept right hands of the right-handed! Such unyielding persecution from the non-dexterous...ahhh!!!

BTW, what was this post about?

      i like this
i think your story is cute.
i remember the first time i realised that my feet were connected to my body lol. i was 2 and a half and sitting on a bar stool while my dad was drinking and playing darts... yeah...

the only flaw i find in this piece is that the reader isnt going to understand this piece the way you want it to be understood without the description.

it doesnt have to be a flaw because i am sure that the piece makes sense without your little story about left and right hand people but part of me thinks it wouldnt have the same beauty as it does with the story.
so perhaps making this piece more and putting in the left hand right hand story...? i dont know.
because i dont want this piece to be over burdened either. it seems to be so well crafted just now...

    im torn.

painting fingernails is something i always hated. mostly coz i never had any nails to paint. and then when i got them it didnt matter what i did the paint was chipped in minutes. i guess im just not girlee enough to have the stuff stick haha but the idea that your left hand be the princess and your right hand the servant is cute.

i think your piece does your story justice
