Encrusted Storm

we write our letters in geminian ways
every thought figured by the time it is displayed
as fountains of youth drown slowly at sea
and crystaline complexity emerges from each memory

in the winter we were bright in darkness
dark when the brightness never came
clinging to spirals into the twinkling of night
our hormones never laid claim

stubborn words destroyed their urges
succumbed to the frailties of our minds
and phobias and listless abortions
ruled out the peace of our minds.
