Description: For the past year, I was in a state of unhappiness. It even got to the point where I wanted to feel that way. This month, May 2007, things have been turning around...a lot... I've found my happiness, & this poem is about just that.
Walking the ebony streets on a Summers midnight
The world at this hour seems that of my own
Organizing my thoughts, as they seemed so lost at one point
The elation I've forever longed for can finally be shown
Tonight I'm meeting myself for the very first time
I have been a stranger to me for the years past
And though I still hold a sense of insecurity within
I feel like I'm getting to know myself at last
Yet I'm still confused about where my happiness was found
There's a feeling inside telling me I'm doing something right
I guess I'll take it as the Summers promise
As I sit and watch the stars lighten my midnight
