How, then, shall we live?
Whether it is who we listen to or what we decide;
or to reveal the secrets we are instructed to hide;
to push away reality will leave our eyes blind,
so how shall we live? For whom and why?
Unto our children constraints are imposed,
the ignorance of innocence long since exposed
the art of seclusion and sheltering controls
the actuality and reality of the truths we behold.
Insensitivity and naivete incriminate society
(a network of lies)
Appearance and acquisition implicate propriety
(how you should look)
We are raped by a medium that causes us anxiety
(how you should feel)
It's the lies we believe that maintain our sobriety
(what we should know)
As the value of Bullshit increases in price, the first reaction we have is to buy,
buy, buy.
You're told how to live, then you're told that you're free (bias)
You're taught not to give, but to take and to keep (profit)
The product of our wants manufactured into need (greed)
The economics of our existence rely on what the media feeds (conform)
What we will listen to is not what we hear;
we choose to ignore the things we should fear;
although the warnings and cautions are clear,
our end is nie; destruction is near.
The attitude we perceive is the persona we receive:
it's the adjustment that's forced everyone to be like each other-
they can't see what they have become:
just another delinquent; another son-of-a-gun.
Our trust monopolized,
our beliefs compromised,
and finally we realize what a one-minded society has to say:
Listen to me: Obey, Obey,
