I'd like you to see that this is the way I think
This is the way I believe
I don't wish for you to hate me for what I look like
For where I live
For what color my skin is
How is it you get to be so great, who decided you'd be the new lord in this town?
Why is it that everywhere I go, you stare?
That everything I touch you throw out?
I don't have a disease, I won't hurt you!
Please don't look at me that way
I'm just as nice as you
I'm just as creative as you
I'm an equal to you
And to everyone else, there is nothing wrong with me
I'm just the same are, You, Him, and Her
Don't ignore me because I look slightly different from you
When a white cat sees a black cat, they do not hate each other, they try to learn who each other is..
So why is it, when I look into your eyes and beg for friendship you turn away and snort at my cries
There is nothing wrong with me, I am an equal to you!
Why don't you see that! Why don't your parents teach you, I just the same as you!
I have eyes, a nose, ears, and a mouth!
I may not dress the same, Believe in the same thing, and I may not have the same color skin, or eyes.
But, why do I deserve to be judged by that?
Why are Mexicans 'dirty'?
Why are Canadians 'stupid'?
Why are Japanese 'Weird'?
Why don't you see these things I try and explain!
Maybe it is you who is dirty, YOU who is stupid and you who is Weird!
Because you can't open your eyes and see,
I'm an equal to you!
