Home Alone

Here I sleep in a lonely bed,
A pillow resting under my head.
I see the dawn rise over the hill,
The valley is calm and boringly still.

Oh how lonely I feel waking up
Alone with out you. With a cup
In my hands I think of you.
My heart sighing with heavy rue.

Looking down at my left hand
On my finger lies a gold band
A ring from that happy day...
Oh how I wish that day could stay.

I will not forget my promise or vow,
But God only knows what I can do right now.
Except pray all day for your safe return,
No one knows how much I yearn.

Even though you're not here, I feel your love.
Just like I feel the sun shining above.
