Description:

composed in the shower.
written 6.5.07.

solarity, solitary

mushrooms and toadstools,
with their humble stalks and
oversize caps (pilei)
/as underage soldiers,
intentionally misrepresenting boys who
don't even possess the volume to adequately fill the
capacity of a standard issue helmet and uniform/
as if to guardedly, defensively shield
contre le soleil

and next to them, wild strawberries,
having somehow managed - so far -
to elude the perpetual consumption in which those ever-nibbling field mice
so eagerly partake

but nothing defies
the Great Rock,
standing/sitting/lying there,
immovable.
and what if an irresistible force meets it?
queries the logician to his pupils
[an inconceivable event]
though not those ones residing behind his spectacles,
dulled by years - decades of relentless poring over books,
reading pages that enumerate into well past the thousands,
well, well past
alone, quite after "civil hours", latearly into the morning
the mourning of a friend whose cuts: slashes
had never healed, and would never
like that disobedient dog who derives great pleasure from
directly disregarding orders
she understands those futile utterances from her cajoling feeder;
it's a matter of choice, not of incomprehension
(not aphasic, this one)

her tongue, lolling out of her mouth, not in panting,
but in derisive ha-ha and triumph

finally, in exasperation, the human, bested by the canine,
gives up, surrenders, waves a white flag
at least until the next day,
after the sun comes up,
when the mushrooms cower

oh, yes, light is upon us now

Well now, honey, that was a FREAKING AWESOME POEM!!! Holy crap!! In the shower!? I wish inspiration came to me like that! it was soo great! I can't believe how wonderful that was! Jeeze! twelve views and only one comment? People are lame... but really! You are gifted and I love the way you break up the sentences and the strange sentences. They clash in a very artistic way that-in my opinion-show off your brilliance and makes it kind of chaotic in an organized sort of way.

Excellently done, chap. Truly magnificent!
