Dunno where this came from, was just thinkin about what I want to do with my life..

Music notes:
Slower tempo (akin to Interstate Love Song by STP), slight distortion on chorus parts

Blank Canvas (Empty Road)

What a wide open space, what a dark hole
What a full future, what an empty past
paint and pain, brushes and brothers
simple strokes, unfulfilled hopes

What a wide open space
What a dark hole

With a blank canvas and an empty road,
I can try and find some peace and hope
With a black eye and an early start
I can begin this journey with a little heart
With a blank canvas

What wide steps, what small strides
What a simple sound, what a complex voice
pebbles and purpose, cracks and crimes
helpless cries, another day dies

What wide steps
What small strides

With an empty road and a plain page
I can try and empty out this rage
With a simple goal and a broken arm
I can end this journey without much harm

What a wide open space, what a dark hole
What wide steps, what small strides,
What a full future, what an empty past
pebbles and purpose, cracks and crimes
simple strokes, unfulfilled hopes

My blank canvas, My empty road

  this is tiight.
i had the coolest picture in my head right away of the black canvas.
i would have never really thought of mixing the imagery of paint and the road together.
that's pretty challenging if you ask me.
i actually want to hear it more than to read it.
what boggles my mind really, is that you can't paint on a black canvas unless you're using certain paints and now you've got me thinking...
