My beloved is a mother based on those things sacred and pure, she is my greatest triumph and most relished passion. She is mother earth to me.

Vibrant Earth

Words to paraphrase her undying love for me
I shall not recite from the book of laws
she has given me

that sweetness does not wish to smell
fetal and amused
nor does it play back the material of a wish refused

could she conquer the grief-stricken me
wipe me clean of carelessness
and my seeping fear of powerlessness

she did everything at once
she managed my breath like strokes on canvas
slow and steady
using as little colour as deemed necessary for reality

did I ever dream of this?
was I ever as bright and beautiful as the liquid in her eyes?
she seems to think so
as I continue to believe the same about her

the word perfect stems from the edge of her toenail
and extends upward till there is neither skin nor hair left to make her
she is still in my mind and she is begging for my ears

I must remember more as I listen to her words
as she paraphrases the sweetness that I recall in her
as her tongue gives way to a wealth of love and of earth

she was born of the soil you know
she hides away the secrets of the world in her eyes
her eyes that I deem too beautiful for stars and the like

galaxies of green pigment gather amongst broken homes
and lay waste to gravity
as they promote wealth on our vibrant earth
