Description: I was sat with nothing better to do while at my Grandparents, so decided to write this.
Musings on the British Summer -------------------------------------------
Having lived in Britain my whole life I'm used to the weather being a bit.....well, strange. But this summer has been a bit demented. For the first month or so it was almost constant rain, with floods across much of Britain. Now, however, its seemingly endless sunshine, often with no clouds in the sky.
Possibly the best example of the sheer absurdity of the British climate: two music festivals, Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight festival, both within a week of each other. Isle of Wight festival bathes in endless sunshine all weekend.
Glastonbury on the other hand suffers almost constant rain.
Then again the Isle of Wight is (reputedly) the sunniest place in Britain.
But, as many would point out Britain's two favourite activities are queueing and moaning. If it didn't rain they wouldn't be able to do much of either.
The weather has been insane in most parts of the world this past two years or so. Funny that. But then your observations on the English clime may or may not deter visits to the Isles. I guess those that need to be there go in any case. The rest of the world watches travel and history programmes on Britain and read writes similar or otherwise to this one you have shared with us.
