       Each time we lose a friend or loved one, a river of emotion runs its gamut of feelings from joyful memories of happy times spent to the utter pain of loss.

    dotsRiver of Emotiondots

    A mighty river of emotion fills each saddened soul;
    With flowing tears, its power grows too fast for swift control.
    It ebbs and flows while nurturing a solemn, silent pledge
    To save the memories of love along its wistful edge.
    Remembering more happy times, it whiffs the blooms of spring.
    Acknowledging each summerís dream, it flies on bluebird wings.
    But, when the cool of autumn comes and leaves begin to fall,
    The mighty river of emotion feels cold winterís call.

    Just as the seasons march through time, so shall emotions flow.
    Delight from spring and summerís warmth soon turns to winterís snow.
    The blossoms of sweet memories, in lifeís own garden, grow
    Still cultivated lovingly from days of long ago.

      Delightful, and oh, so true! A gift of aging is that, as we grow older, the stored memories increase, and our lives are enriched by a wealth of memories of friends, loved ones, good times, and even bad memories add texture and depth to the memory database. Comparing those memories to a mighty river is so appropriate! Well done, Sharon!

      that is so true how a river of emotion run through us when we have lost someone dear to our hearts...
    there are moments for us to remember of the good times we had the laughter we shared....
    thats what i choose to remember of someone i love who passed over...
    although i do have times when i cry but the happy times are what i hold on to the most...for me its their birthdays and when they passed over those are the days when i find myself breaking down in to tears...Yes i believe every one here at this site can relate to your poem Sharon...it may not be original but it comes from your heart and to me thats what matters..well done girl cheers!
