Imprisoned in a lonely heart
Lay melodies unsung
And memories for which a start
Is yet to have begun.
Somewhere within its chamber depths,
A longing lingers near
For hearts are meant to share a love
And find that someone dear.
If love should sprout one springtime day
When life is young and sweet,
How grand to see it blossom bright
As two become complete!
Or maybe love shall seek a mate
Amid the roses red
As summer evenings find romance
Soon grabs a turning head.
In autumn with its mysteries,
Some mend their broken hearts
Again to whisper words of love
To newly found sweethearts.
When love arrives in wintertime,
It comes in snowy white;
True beauty sees beyond the years
And fills hearts with delight.
As long as life and love remain,
A song may fill each day;
And I shall simply wish for you
To hear love’s music play.
