    dotsWhy Must We Sleep?dots
    -------------------------------------------

    Why must we sleepů?
In those countless hours of slumber
    Lay a multitude of potential
But though, dreams are a gateway
    Into our imagination,
    A place to be free
    From earthly limitations
    To see the unknown
    And to conquer fears

    A dream is a refuge
From all the pains of life
We hide there to get away
    From the world
To make it what we want and need
    To feel loved
    When we are not
    To be significant and powerful
    When we are weak
    A place to be more
Than the world will allow us to be

Lol. I dunno about the wasted potential part, I love sleeping too much. Your poem is very interesting. I love dreaming. I agree with most of your points on dreams. And I really liked the last line. I like how you've taken a vague subject and managed to contstruct something with feeling. I dunno about this, but maybe you can add more about how dreams reflect your true feelings. I guess it's already sort of discussed in the last line. But I dont know, maybe it'll give a new dimension to the piece.

Wow, this is amazing. So true. You've penned exactly how I feel! I have so much to accomplish and yet my body must doom me to waste that time sleeping. But on the other hand I save myself when I sleep. I have a momentary escape from stress and self-destruction and a multitude of other things that go along with the waking hours. A short and simple masterpiece you have here. Thank you so much for sharing!

this is true that dreams are indeed an escape from the woes of everyday life. you did an amazing job of conveying the feelings of dreams and how we can often bend the feelings and emotions of people and ourselves in dreams.

So true about dreams, especially "day dreams"! A place where we can go and be what we want to be! You have a remarkable developing talent, Amber!

this is going oin my favorites

^i just wanted to make that clear

    but about the poem
this is great. i liked it coz dreams are places where we can be what we want and do as we please with out being judged and it can teach us about life and the struggles and that it's okk to get away for a while from all the pain and suffering we all go through

but like everything else in the world dreams too can have a dark side
