Looking back at my crazy summer
Smiling at the memories
Getting lost in the thoughts of everything that we did
Feeling the wind in my fair from the days out in the boat or the ones we spend on our bikes on the open road
Remembering the times we leaped and jumped out of the water
Laughing at ourselves for forgetting to bring our shoes to the edge of the lake
Tasting all the ice cream we ate as we ran though the summer days
Smiling as I remember the messes we made
Showing up at her house two minutes before we were leaving
Covered head to toe in mud
Laughing our way out of trouble
Remembering all the jokes, tricks and pranks we pulled
While all of us were stuck together at work
Imagining the all the ice we shoved down each others shirts
Almost still feeling the ice as it slipped down our backs in between our shoulder blades
Together trying to come up with explanations on why our shirts were wet
Tearing up as I remember the goodbye’s said to the old friends who went back to their lives
Laughing as I remember the welcoming we gave to friends who came back after a whole summer gone
Imaging what the coming year will bring
And hoping that its as half as much fun as this summer has been
