I awoke this morning with a rather odd question in the front of my mind...it's not really something I've ever wondered about.
How do you suppose Death came about? Not the act of dying but the figure...Death himself. The man(or woman) who sweeps around in their dashing black cloak, with their hooded face and scythe. And is the scythe really needed? If Death is just the figurehead that shows up to take you when it's time for you to go, why does he need such an impressive looking weapon? I want to know the origins of this symbol. I don't think it would be based in a religion, but I could be wrong. It seems more like a belief formatted by a more ignorant sort of people.
Has their ever been a movie made where someone dresses up as Death, and kills people? It might seem sort of cheesy, but with all the other slasher villains, why not Death? He's no more retarded than Jason Voorhies...I think it would be an interesting premise.
I think I am going to look into this...
Another thought...how did the act of sex truly come about? If you go with the belief that we all have our roots in Adam and Eve...what happened there? After they were cast from the Garden of Eden, or before? Did Adam look down at his penis and wonder what purpose that strange appendage had? How did he discover that it could be thrust inside of Eve, and produce some sort of pleasant results? Did God let them in on the fact that they would have to do this in order to propagate? Or did they have instincts that caused them to figure out that this was the only way to continue their race?
From there, you go to evolution. If that's truly how we came to be, how did that one work out? One of the males found out that sticking his sex organ inside of a female made him feel good, and, if done enough, made her belly grow round and produce a little creature within a year. I wonder how many tries it took to get it right...how many different "holes" they tried before figuring out the right one. And for that matter, how did sex evolve into what it is today? Where did oral sex come into play? Is it just instinctive to know that you can cause pleasure with your tongue, when pressure is applied in the right places? When I think back to my first experience with it, that's kind of what happened. I had a general idea of what was supposed to go down, but I didn't really have any "training" or "insight" into it. Instinct took over.
If you go with my sister's theory...that we are all just creations of my cousin Derrick's mind...well, sex makes perfect sense. Derrick made that shit up to confound us even farther than we already were. We were given this knowledge and desire to amuse him. Which, no doubt, would explain a lot. Why I am attracted to the assholes that I am attracted to. Why nothing ever lasts very long...this is Derrick fucking with me...
