Pray my child, he said to me,
Safe from harm in his temple
He paced the corridors never ending.
Left to play God for a people
Whose temperance for living had ended.
My soul so innocent, always the good one they loved.
Pray young one, he called to me,
Hidden from the world he loved
Lost in the halls of forever.
Taken to be a king for a people
To whom he’ll be an idol.
Untainted by the violence, it lasts forever.
Pray dear daughter, he cried to me,
The doors of his sanctuary flung open
Violated by those he cared for.
Trying to save them even now
The people who’d kill him.
Growing up with no family, knew I’d hate them.
Pray lost one, he pleaded of me,
Stretched across his precious alter
Forsaken pains to accost for.
Made to par-take in their rites
Those who loved him once.
The shadows my only friends, why leave them now.
Pray damned one, he accused of me,
Bled in his hallow halls
Screams now fill the air.
Killed to plaicapait their lust,
Those lost in the dark.
I was always darkness, no god can change me.
