    dotsWriter's Overloaddots

    This situation is... writers overload,
Your mind zig zags down every road.
Have you ever had this kind of problem?
If so, then tell me how you solve them?

Its a downward spiral no matter what,
Any way you go, you land in a rut.
You start a poem and your halfway done
Then without warning youre on a new one.

You cant finish the one you started,
Your final emotions are just to guarded.
You produce some words to break the wall,
But this course of action brings your poem's fall.

So time stands still for this complication,
And hours pass with no sign of completion.
You call it quits and never come to an end,
...another poem in the garbage bin.

Sometimes it takes years to finish a poem.

The only time you should ever throw one away is if you honestly feel you'd get a cathartic release out of a sort of burning ceremony; one that would outweigh the loss of a piece of your written history.

I have this habit of writing on only one side of each page. Though I feel a twinge of guilt over wasting paper, I know if I'm to return to a particular train of thought, there will be room to revise right beside the original.

So, in other words, I can relate. I, too, seem to have a raging case of ADD when it comes to writing. There are times, that for weeks, months, or even years (yes, YEARS) on end, all that will come is a phrase here and an idea there, as if to tease before floating just out of reach. It can be frustrating, but
keep writing them down faithfully, because you never know. There is also something to be said about writing when there is no inspiration. I shouldn't talk here, because I can be highly undisciplined, but just moving the pen can be an exercise in itself.

This is funny, clever and cute. No better way to get out of writer's block than to write a poem about how you are having trouble writing a poem. Pretty nifty.

This is me. This is two me's. This is me right now and me when I try to go to sleep. How do you keep writing about me. I've got two or three poems in the works, all stemming from a piece I'm trying to write. Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to getting out of this rut. All I can do is sympathize. However, I was just struck with a sudden inspiration. I may have an idea that could salvage our poems. I'll PM you with the details. But I love the poem. It's going on my favs., if for nothing else, so I don't forget this idea.

You have the basis for a very nice piece here. There are a few rough spots and a few misspellings that need to be corrected. Take a few moments and go back over it and see where you can tidy it up.

    3. How did it make you feel?
    4. Why did it make you feel that way?
    5. Which parts?
    6. What distracted from the piece?
    7. What was unclear?
    8. What does it remind you of?
    9. How could it be improved?
    10. What would you have done differently?
    11. What was your interpretation of it?
    12. Does it feel original?

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
