    -------------------------------------------

Two lonely people met one day
So near, and yet so far away
    Bound by words, emotions high
Hoping love wont pass them bye

    Longing, wanting, no more pain
Yet fearful, their love was in vain
    Souls united, hearts were one
Jumped the moon, and rode the sun

Plans were made, at last to meet
By hills of heather smelling sweet
    Time together, yet to be
Sail the wind and fly the sea

    But circumstances ruled the day
    Love lay bleeding far away
Thoughts of just what might have been
For a lonely King, and lonely Queen

Hopes and wishes, they did share
    Love would call again somewhere
    Lessons learned, amidst the pain
    The circumstance will rule again

    Love will last without beseech
Meant to be, but out of reach
How close they came, as close can be
Forever love, for her and me

I really liked this poem, but what bugged me was the use of the word "bye" in place of "by".

this was sweet but sad because it seemed that love was just right out of reach but always there. hopefully you'll continue to write, if not on here but anywhere else.

Yes, what an accolade - should I combine these comments mine would not be worthy enough....you, my Bard & King, are surely a poet of the heart and soul and your effortless rhymes and uncanny7 ability to bring story to life are limitless...

Bravo and yes, when all else fades away - Love remains....

    love,peace,joy&smiles to share

Even if it is the last poem you post here (though I'm hoping you will come back again some day) i hope you're not giving up writing entirely,as you showed with this last piece you are one of the best poets I've had the fortune of coming into contact with. Good luck in all that you do.

    much love and luck xx

What an excellent love poem, with all the ingredients for great poetry. An enchanting story, a blooming love, separation and longing, and finally unrequited but unshakable loving! Your work is always superb! I don't know you do it, but we all enjoy your outstanding skill and will certainly miss your delightful poems!

      A lovely tale, well told.
    As are all your poems.
I hope you'll continue to write, even if you arent posting here. You have a wonderful talent with words...a gift, surely.

I wish you well in your life, Frank.

And I pray you and your queen may meet one fine day,
and then find joy in each other until the end of your days.

    All my best,
    Laura
