Description: So many things happened to me during my childhood but it all happen for a reason and that reason was to find my soul mate and love and appreciate him to the fullest extent! While never taking for granted what I have, because growing up I had material objects yes several of which were not needed but what I did not have was a loving parent one whom truly cared for my well being. And now look at me... I have someone who would do anything in the world for me give all that he can and LOVE ME for who I am! He feels the pain I grew up with, he knows of all the suffering I was put threw, but never again ... never again!
For, you have seen my suffering
Felt my pain
And understand my confusion
You hold me close now... practically squeezing me.
As you promise me, you'll never allow anyone to hurt me again.
And you cry some more
For, you have seen my suffering
Felt my pain
And understand my confusion.
You go on holding me as you explain to me..
Nothing was my fault..
As you look deep into my eyes (as if you're searching)
You begin to squeeze my arms and you ask..
"Do you feel it is your fault"?
I do not answers simply look away...
You begin to cry once again...
For, you have seen my suffering
Felt my pain
And understand my confusion.
Its good, in some parts you make it look like a short song. Maybe you should consider writing some lyrics, haha. I've noticed you show a lot of pain and sorrow in your poems, sometimes you just have to get back up on your feet and think of things you have. Anyway, its a good write, pleasure to read it, Shadow
I love you so much. You're right... I will never allow anyone to hurt you, ever. That part of your life is over. I WILL do anything for you, anything you ever want or need, I will do my best to make certain that you are never left wanting. I will take care of you, and keep you safe always. You deserve happiness and comfort, safety and stability. I will give you all of that, forever, as well as all of my love. I will cherish, protect and adore you until the end of time. That is my promise to you...
I love this poem. I really do. It reads so well! Definitely one of my favorites. Thank you baby.
This is so sad and yet also very reassuring; sad that you experienced abuse in your childhood, and happy that you have a spouse that is so special and loving to you now.
I had an abusive Stepmother, and can relate to how it feels to have a childhood experience with an abusive parent.
I'm happy for you, and I think you're writing about it helps others to relate!
